NYSEA HOOP SHOOT CONTEST - 2009

At the Fall Conference in White Plains, the dates and sites of the 2008-09 New York State Hoop Shoot Semi-Finals and Finals were announced.

Lyons Lodge #869 will be host for the State Hoop Shoot and it will be on February 21, 2009. More information will follow within the next few weeks.

All Regional Semi-Finals will be held on February 7, 2009 and will be held in the following locations:

The West Regional Semi-Final, for the West, Southwest, Southern Tier and West Central Districts will be held at Amherst Lodge #1942. The Regional Director is Jeff Becker.

The Central Regional Semi-Final, for the Central, Ontario, North Central and South Central Districts will be held at Oswego Lodge #271. The Regional Director is Carol Dillabough.

The East Regional Semi-final, for the North, Northeast, State Capital, North Hudson, East Central Districts will be held at Rotterdam Lodge #2157. The Regional Director is Eric Lewis.

The South Regional Semi-Final, for the East, Mid Hudson, South and Southeast Districts will be held at Poughkeepsie Lodge #275. The Regional Director is Richard Long.

As a reminder, all District Contest will need to be done by January 24th. All District Directors need to provide information regarding the District Contest to the State Chairman by October 1st. District Directors need to provide information to the State Director regarding Local Contest by October 10th.

In regards to our National Tournament, The Northeast Central Regional Finals (otherwise known as the Tri-States) will be held on March 28th in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The National Finals will be held on April 25th in Springfield, MA.

Lets have New York State at 100% Participation. Lets Have all Lodges participate in Hoop Shoot !!

• NY STATE HOOP SHOOT RESULTS: The New York State Hoop Shoot that was held on February 16, 2008 at Homer Jr. High School in Cortland, New York.  I would like to express my thank you to all my New York State Subordinate Lodge Director’s, District Director’s, State/Regional Director’s and especially to New York State Hoop Shoot Coordinator John “Dinger” Edinger and the Homer Elks for a great hosting of this event.

• NY STATE REGIONAL'S: The New York State Regional's are held on the first Saturday of February every year.  The 2007 State Regional's will be held on February 2, 2008 with locations yet to be determined.

• NY STATE FINALS: The NYS Finals are held on the third Saturday of February every year.  This year the finals will be held on February 16, 2008 at 10:00AM and will be hosted by the Homer Lodge #2506.  Event Director John Edinger.

           3:00PM to 7:00PM - Registration at Ramada Inn.
           8:00PM to 10:00PM - Pool and Pizza Party at the hotel w/DJ.

    • Saturday, February 16th, 2008:
           9:00AM - Contestants will be picked up in School Bus. 
                            Parents to follow in cars.
           9:15AM - Arriving at Homer Junior High School. ^MAP
           9:30AM - Start warm-ups for contestants.
           10:00AM - Opening announcements and start of contest.
           12:00PM - Leave for Homer Elks Lodge ^MAP for Lunch and Awards.
           2:00PM - Processing of winners paperwork.
       

• NATIONAL REGIONAL'S: Northeast Central Region 5 - Consists of the following states: New York, New Jersey & Pennsylvania.  The Regional Hoop Shoot will be held in Wilkes-Barre, PA on March 29th, 2008 with all the families checking in on the 28th of March.
